Poster Design
For my poster, I was inspired by the theme we chose in class: leap of faith. On the poster, the “of faith” part is in a different font. I made it look like it was painted on by the artist character I created, who is meant to represent the involvement of Dawson students in the creative process. The “of faith” part is the theme that we came up with as a class, which means that it is our personal touch. That is why I made it stand out.
The second half of the word “LEAP” is higher than the first half and it is more colourful to show that by taking a chance on something, taking a leap of faith, can take you to new heights, to brighter new opportunities. It is about taking a leap of faith despite the distance that separates you from what you really want to do. That is why there is a large space between the first and the second half of the word, and the silhouette is taking a leap of faith to reach their true potential.
I wanted to use different fonts and a lot of different colours to show that art is something very versatile and it can combine many different elements and styles. I included different disciplines of the ALC profiles, such as cinema, literature, music and visual arts. The purpose of my poster is to show that creativity can take you many different places.
